The Braun CoolTec CT2s Shaver is an innovative foil shaver from Braun. It is the first shaver to have active cooling technology. This new technology cools the shaver while in use which greatly reduces the effect of shaver burn. This cooling technology allows you to have a safe shave which leaves you with a lasting refreshing feeling. We tried the Braun CoolTec shaver out to see how it would perform. Read on for more.
The Basics/ In The Box
In the box, you get the Braun CoolTec CT2s Shaver which has a polished design and it looks quite stylish. On the top part of the shaver there are rubber grips for increased control when shaving. Just below the shaver heads you will notice a blue strip which is where the cooling technology functions. You activate this by pressing the button with the snowflake icon and it lights up blue when in use. You also get a build in Precision trimmer.
Also in the box, you receive a fantastic cleaning/charging stand, a protective cap, a SmartPlug, a cleaning brush, some oil and an instruction manual. It also comes with a 2-year warranty. The retail price of this shaver is £199 but do not worry as you can get it for a discounted price here.
Operation and Ease of Use
The main feature of the Braun CoolTec CT2s Shaver is the Cooling technology. Many conventional shavers today when used build up a lot of heat which can cause shaver burn. At the push of a button the Braun CoolTec Shaver activates its CoolTec. It uses a thermos ceramic cooling element which converts electricity into a cooling sensation. Because of this there is no need for lotions or gels. This CoolTec technology is a fantastic feature for those with sensitive skin. This shaver also has a triple action cutting system. This system incorporates two SensoBlades and one trimmer in the middle. This effective blade system makes sure no hairs get away and gives you a smooth shave. This shaver is waterproof and can be used safely in the shower without lacking in performance. It is very simple to use as there are two buttons one for power and one to activate the CoolTec.
Results After Shaving
With the triple action cutting system the Braun CoolTec CT2s Shaver provides a good close shave. You can notice that it does a good job at tackling hairs, you only have to go over your face a couple of times and it will clean up well. When using this shaver with the CoolTec turned on you will get a nice, cool icy feeling when shaving. It’s quite a unique experience whilst shaving. It feels incredibly smooth and after shaving your face feels so refreshed. The CoolTec really does takes electric shaving to a new level of comfort and satisfaction. With this shaver, there is no need for oils, foam, gel etc. The CoolTec system takes care of everything sensitive skin wise and makes your skin feeling better than ever. The cleaning system not only cleans but lubricates the shaver in an alcoholic wash tray. This process will result in an even better shave for those with sensitive skin.
Battery Life
The Braun CoolTec CT2s Shaver comes with a rechargeable battery so it is used cordlessly. The battery life is approximately 45 minutes with a charging times of around 1 hour. Like many other Braun shaver models this also comes with a quick charge option. Which is where you can get one good, clean shave with a 5-minute quick charge. This shaver also comes with a charging stand which is also used to clean the shaver. This makes it easier since after you have finished shaving you just place it on the stand and let it charge.
Cleaning and Care
There are two ways to clean the Braun CoolTec Shaver. One way is that you can run it under a tap for quick and easy cleaning. But the other way is by using the cleaning station which is much more convenient and makes your life easier. This station not only cleans but charges and lubricates the shaver. With this 3 in 1 function shaving life could not get easier. The station only takes a few minutes to clean the shaver but it takes a while for it to dry. The shaver is lubricated by using an alcohol cleaning fluid which is said to remove 99% of germs from the shaver.
Special Features
The main special feature is of course the cleaning/charging station with its multi-functions it is an ideal tool to make shaving much easier. Another feature is a protection cap to keep the blades in prime condition when traveling with the shaver. You also get a cleaning brush with this shaver when you choose to clean it without using the cleaning station. Another feature is the pop-up trimmer good for getting rid of sideburns and trimming your moustache.

The Braun CoolTec CT2 Shaver is the best shaver for sensitive skin that we have reviewed so far. It’s CoolTec system is revolutionary for sensitive skin, the breeze on your skin whilst shaving is an extremely comforting experience that other shavers can’t give you. The triple action cutting system works well to give you a quick close shave. The cleaning/charging system makes things very easy so much so that shaving does not even feel like an inconvenience.
